Dr Sian Hughes is a consultant paediatrician. Paediatrics deals with the care of infants, children and adolescents, and their growth and development.

Sian works as a developmental and behavioural paediatrician here at Coolaroo Clinic. She has been a part of our team since 1992.

She has also been with Eastern Health (Maroondah CAMHS) since 1998, co-ordinating the autism program for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

Dr Hughes is also the President of AuSLMAT. The Australia Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team (AuSLMAT) which was formed in the aftermath of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. Dr Hughes offers her time and expertise on a voluntary basis. While initially the focus was to assist with the crisis situation, AuSLMAT has continued to offer ongoing assistance to the poor and disadvantaged communities of Sri Lanka and to help bolster the local health services.
